HVOF Spray Application

 

High Velocity Oxy Fuel (HVOF) Application
This process has been developed to produce extremely high spray velocity.  The method is basically a hight pressure, fuel (kerosene, acetylene, propylene and hydrogen) and oxygen are fed into the chamber, combustion produces a hot high pressue flame which is forced down a nozzle increasing its velocity. Powder may be fed axially into the HVOF combustion chamber under hight pressure or fed through the side of larval type nozzle.  Typical characteristics of HVOF coatings include bond strengths in excess of 10,000 psi, hardness in the 55-72 Rc range, hight density, and excellent resistance to reciprocating wear and fretting.
